Can We Give Salt and Sugar for Infant?

WHY ADDED SUGAR SHOULD BE AVOIDED BEFORE AGE 2?

Children younger than 24 months should avoid foods with added sugar and sugar-sweetened drink.

Research shows that sugar is linked to their children’s fluctuating energy level, hyperactivity, mood disorders, weight gain, acne, and tooth decay.

Avoiding added sugar and sweeteners in the early years may help babies and toddlers to learn to love savoury flavours as well as naturally sweet whole foods like fruit and vegetables.

Hugging Love promises that our baby food products are NO sugar added.

DON’T ADD SALT TO BABY FOOD

Food with high salt such as processed meat (sausages, bacons, lunch meats, hotdogs, hams) should avoid giving children. Do not use stock cubes and gravy when cooking for baby because they are also usually high in salt.

Starting salt young may cause health problem like kidney damage, weakened immunity and increase risk of high blood pressure in long term.

Babies’ kidneys are not fully developed yet and they may not be able to handle excessive salt. Research found that consuming too much salt makes the kidneys work too hard, releasing substances into the body that inhibit immune system functioning.

Hugging Love baby food products are NO salt added.
